“Normal service will be resumed…”

June 13th, 2008

Just a quick apology to anybody’s who’s tried to email Democracy Towers in the past couple of days, as our hosting company’s experienced what could only be described as, well, a meltdown.

The email AND web servers – and their respective back-ups – both went the way of the dodo, leaving us wondering whether the Gremlins from that really annoying BT advert with Peter “Dragons’ Den” Jones had been moonlighting.

Anyway, we’re promised that things are now back to normal. And rest-assured, steps are being taken to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

“Who’s the Daddy?”

(Fanfare of trumpets)According to The Drum it’s us!

We’ve been flagged as start-up agency to watch in their latest issue – and we’re chuffed to bits.

Reading the complete list, we were struck by how some big client names were turning away from the ‘big boys’ and opting to work with us jumped-up start-ups: Bupa, Subaru, the NHS and Kimberly-Clark Healthcare have all assigned budgets to agencies that didn’t exist 18 months ago.

Why are they taking the risk?

Start-ups are more willing to embrace anything new and different, eager to prove ourselves by delivering great results and don’t need to charge the earth to pay for flash offices and an expensive support team.

Remember the good old days when you could offer the organ grinder and not the monkey?
