Dole has taken the banana into the digital age, with a genius idea to target health-conscious consumers.

The world’s largest fruit producer has added a simple three digit code to the label on every one of their organic bananas.

Type the code into the Dole Organic web site and you’re told where the banana was picked, the name of the family who grew it, the community they live and, of course, information on Dole’s fair trade policies.

Simple and effective.
